79% discontent with US politics, professors call for new constitution

This article op-ed piece from Salon calls for a new political system removing private money from politics, redistricting using random computer algorithms instead of political gerrymandering, This was written by Andrew Burstein and Nancy Isenberg, professors of History at Louisiana State University. I would throw out there that we should more accurately base our system on the Iroquois Confederacy of the indigenous nations. Our constitution was born on that model, except it created a more centralized power version and took rights and function away from women, slaves, etc.

According to the Constitution, if two-thirds of states, 34, call for a constitutional convention then it should happen. The current number of states that have called for this total 49, but 11 have rescinded that call, with a total of 38. Here is a legit article from Veterans Today on that aspect.
